This Afghan Hound figurine shows the whitish colored dog looking off to the left while sitting proudly on all four legs.

The neck is elongated. While long necks is a feature in early Lladro art, it is only slightly longer than what is actually seen in the dog.

As you can see, Lladro has fairly realistically recreated the Afghan Hound. This figurine is perfect for not only the Lladro collector, but fans of this dog breed.

The Afghan Hound does originate from Afghanistan. Breeds today mostly are descendants from hounds given as gifts to Great Britain from Afghanistan King Amanullah Khan in the 1920s.
