$435	Lladro that is simply named "Mother Lladro." It is a magnificent glazed finish figure of a beautiful mother cradling her young son on her lap while her daughter cuddles against her as they all gaze at a lovely butterfly that has landed on the mother's knee. The girl is holding a bowl of fruit. Her soft white dress has a faint random dot pattern. Her light brown hair is tied back with a white ribbon. The mother is wearing a lovely beige and white head covering, a nice complement to her dress of shades of medium gray to light beige-gray tones. She has a muted pink shawl draped over her right arm. She is sitting on a wall covered with foliage. Her young son is barefoot dressed in gray shorts and a white shirt. This Lladro has been in our family since purchased in 1974. It was beautifully displayed in a glass-enclosed armoire with other beautiful sculpted pieces. It will look marvelous on any accent table, credenza, dresser, in a curio cabinet, or etigierre with other fine collectables. Here are the details of this elegant piece: Name: "Mother Lladro" Spanish Name: La Madre Sculptor: Alfredo Ruiz Year Issued: 1974 Year Retired: 1979 Finish: Glazed Height: 15" Width: 8" Depth: 12" Weight: 7.6 lbs Condition: Mint! No cracks, crazing, chips, imperfections Authenticity: Blue "Lladro" Stamp with the blue bellflower logo above the name and "Hand Made in Spain" below the name (this mark was used from 1971 through 1974). There are four incised symbols on the base. Note the absence of the accent over the "O." Also note there are two stamps on the base. Like many older Lladros this piece has a double Lladro stamp.
$400	Lladro figurine entitled "Mother". The Lladro number of this figurine is 4864. This Lladro measures 15" and was sculpted by Antonio Ruiz. Also, this piece was issued in 1974 and retired in 1983. This piece has the appropriate Lladro backstamp on the bottom and indicates that this piece was made between 1971 and 1974 - one of the early pieces! This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This Lladro is from an estate of an elderly women that treasured her pieces and kept them in a cabinet made specifically for her collection. Any "white spots" in the photographs are just reflections from the camera. Remember this piece is even rarer as it has the much older Lladro backstamp! This Lladro is heavy and beautifully sculpted!
